A recently restored old manor house, "Old Court" by Suelli, a beautiful village in the hills of Trexenta among wheat fields and olive groves, offers peace and quietness and a genuine traditional cuisine with flavors and scents of the past.

In contact with nature, a short distance from the center of Sardinia and the sea, is an ideal environment where restore body and spirit.

L 'Hospitality is offered in an old manor house at court in part, in Peasant Party, under a radical restructuring that took account of the original architecture, and implemented a work of restoration of the old materials aiming to retain the characteristics of style of the old houses of Trexenta.

The house consists of two blocks. In the first, which is also the oldest, dating back to 1600, were recovered on the ground floor reception hall, office and two large halls for conferences and exhibition spaces. Upstairs 6 bedrooms with bathrooms equipped with every comfort. The furniture and furnishings were made by local artisans respecting the ancient Sardinian traditions.

To overcome the architectural barriers for people with disabilities can realize a lift which is accessed from outside the central courtyard. The second block includes a dining hall for about 50 people, kitchen, wood oven and a grill connected by an arcade.

The city center and the Municipality of Suelli are placed on a flat area called Trexenta and fertile, with Marmilla once considered the granary of Rome. It lies at the feet of a group of hills and the edge of the plain. It is part of a system of closely spaced settlements and insists on a pole connection paths that connect to neighboring towns. The historic center is still well preserved irregularly circular in shape and has the Church in its highest point.
The houses are arranged according to the typical pattern of Trexenta aligning the rooms along the street front, with a portal to the courtyard. The stone generally not plastered, is the component most widely used, and usually it is easily available materials in the surrounding area rich in sandstone, clay and marl often studded with clams and snails.
Like other countries of Trexenta, is approached by an old railway line into the heart of Sardinia (Ogliastra and Barbagia), now of little economic value, but capable, on its tortuous path and being slow to offer some of the most picturesque views of the island. Suelli is also known for its wild environment that can be admired in a park owned by the town, about 800 meters from the town.
The territory of the town was inhabited by man since Nuragico period (within the municipal boundaries were identified nuraghic 20 settlements, some of whom are still waiting to be explored), and Phoenician-Punic period. We do not know with certainty whether the town of Suelli already existed in Roman times but it is certain that its territory was crossed by the Roman road Carales-Olbia.
During the High Middle Ages Suelli villa, once the seat of the diocese, belonged to the Judges of Cagliari. Towards the end of the century the court of Cagliari Orzoco-Torchitorio I gave it to Bishop George (later sanctified as "episcopus Barbariae). After the fall of the judge of Cagliari (1257) center followed the fate of the parish of Trexenta and was annexed to the Kingdom of Arborea to whom he remained until 1297, years in which to devise came under the direct control of the Municipality of Pisa.
After 1363 Suelli was integrated into the island and Aragonese possessions after being raised to the rank of barony was fief to his Bishop. In the first half of the fifteenth century the Bishopric of Suelli was built Residence in Cagliari and the barony of Suelli became part of the estates of the Archbishop.

Archaeology. Art
Tourism Suelli tip archeology, the whole country is full of nuraghi but to Piscu on State Mandas, position control of the fertile valleys dominated by it, is the most majestic and most easily visited in as totally restored. The Nuraghe is of complex type (four-sided), the older tower is surrounded by a rampart with four rectangular towers at the corners, of which the first and third almost completely destroyed.
The artistic sights are mostly evidence of the long presence of the episcopal power, collected on a large square overlooked by the Cathedral Shrine of the adjacent church of San Giorgio and Carmine. The cathedral, dedicated to St. Apostle Peter, has as its patron saint George Bishop of Suelli (980 - 1040 / 45). Original Romanesque building of the thirteenth century the north side remain bottom of the tower and the cell with time on beautiful carved and molded shelves. Perhaps in the sixteenth century there was a reshuffle with late-Gothic elements, which gave a plant to the classroom with side chapels and capilla mayor with beautiful stars. The altarpiece in the chancel of St. Peter's shop Cavaro (XVI century). The Sanctuary, which houses the remains of the seventeenth century by St. Bishop environment is a Greek cross with barrel-vaulted simple facade topped by smooth curved molded frame. Beautiful altar wooden work of local artisans. Interesting the wrought iron gate (sixteenth century) that closes access to the shrine el'acquasantiera carved stone.
The Chiesa del Carmine (XV / XVI century) has a rectangular nave with a timber roof supported by three pointed arches. The plain facade, surmounted by belfry, is enriched with moldings late-Gothic portal. Interesting seventeenth-century wooden altarpiece on the high altar, the wooden statues and sculptures in stone zoomorphic el'acquasantiera marble altar.
Not far from the village on a small hill town in Cisco, which dominates the entire valley Senorbì, is the eighteenth-century rural Church of SS Cosmas and Damian, for tripartite rectangular nave by pointed arches sandstone, covered roof, exterior buttresses.
