Archeology

Archaeology is a very important part of Sardinia’s culture: nuraghic villages and stone towers, unique in the world, betili, dolmens, Domus de Janas, menhirs, sacred wells, giant tombs, Phoenician-Punic and Roman settlements, as well as testimonies from the Genoese, Pisan, Spanish (both Catalan and Aragonese) and Piedmontese eras.

The industrial heritage is represented mainly by the mines. Some of them safe-guarded and can be visited. Do not miss the Henry Gallery at Buggerru and Porto Flavia at Masua, both overlooking the sea and perhaps unique in the world.
