Sardinia’s forests are situated on mountains or on high hills. Both are easily accessible, thanks to the many paths. Excursions on horseback, by foot or with an SUV allow you to enter the more inaccessible areas and to admire the most hidden corners.
Flora and fauna consists of rare species, indigenous as well as imported. Distinctive is the Mediterranean Maquis, especially in Spring with its smell of Rockroses, Strawflowers and Mastic trees. There are also numerous, torrential rivers.
The mountains do not exceed 2000 meters and are scattered all over the island, however not in all regions: most of the territory is hilly. Some regions own their charm to the shape of the hills, e.g. in the Marmilla region, with some hills having a perfectly inverted truncated cone.
